TeddyBear: the Belgian singer who turns his flaws into songs

He started behind a drum kit, ended up at the microphone almost by chance, and today commands the attention of the entire Francophone scene. At 24, TeddyBear, whose real name is Jules Scinta, is making his mark with direct songwriting, a powerful voice, and songs that talk about what we sometimes prefer to keep to ourselves. His debut album, Le Plus Beau, released on October 30, 2026, marks a new milestone in his journey.

Originally from Mons, Belgium, TeddyBear grew up in a family of musicians of Sicilian origin. His father is a drummer and passed on his love of rhythm to him at an early age. For several years, the drums remained his primary means of expression. But in 2023, an unexpected opportunity changed his trajectory: he filled in for a friend on stage and performed his own lyrics. This first experience gave him the desire to pursue the adventure in singing.

Songwriting quickly became his proving ground for expression. There he lays out his doubts, family memories, insecurities, and everyday observations. No need to build a persona or try to lecture anyone: TeddyBear prefers to tell things as he feels them. This is particularly evident in "Chaussures Roses", a track that greatly helped put him on the map. Behind this song lies a family story about a pair of shoes given to him by his grandmother. A personal memory turned into a touching track, accompanied by a music video featuring actor François Damiens.

With "Enfin Bon", he addresses his parents' separation and the marks it leaves on a family. "L'Humain" takes a more direct look at the behaviors of our society, while the track "Le Plus Beau" explores his relationship with appearance and self-image. Personal topics that resonate far beyond his own story.

Musically, it is hard to box him into a single category. His music moves between French chanson, pop, rap, and instrumental arrangements, with influences ranging from Jacques Brel to Salvatore Adamo, by way of Alpha Wann and the jazz of Yussef Dayes. On his debut album, eleven tracks bring together piano, strings, drums, and electronic textures. A contemporary production that above all leaves space for his voice and lyrics.

His progress was also built on stage. Even before the release of his debut album, he supported artists such as Orelsan, Clara Luciani, Julien Doré, and Feu! Chatterton. In October 2026, he also won the Belgian Revelation of the Year award at the NRJ Music Awards. Recognition that accompanies a particularly important year for the young artist.

What comes next is already in the works: TeddyBear is expected at Trans Musicales in Rennes in December 2026, where he will present a creation as part of a residency at L'Aire Libre. In 2027, he will go on tour, notably including a performance at Le Trianon in Paris on January 26, ahead of several dates in France and Belgium.

TeddyBear does not try to hide his imperfections behind a polished image. He prefers to put them into his songs, sometimes with humor, sometimes with disarming sincerity. It is precisely in this way of telling his vulnerabilities that his artistic identity takes shape today.
