Mylène Farmer x DJ Snake: the collab nobody saw coming

Mylène Farmer et DJ Snake habillées en noir posent de nuit devant une voiture aux phares allumés

Mylène Farmer and DJ Snake on the same track. If someone had told you a year ago, you probably would have laughed. Yet, it’s very real. The singer is releasing her 13th album, Égrégore, this Friday, October 30, four years after L’Emprise. And DJ Snake, the French producer behind “Lean On” and “Turn Down for What”, features on two tracks. Their very first collab.

The first one, “Combien pour la nuit”, was released as a single on Wednesday, along with a music video directed by Gilles Lellouche, shot in early September in Yvelines. It’s the most club-ready track on the album: it hits hard, makes you want to dance, and doesn’t fit the image people usually have of Mylène Farmer at all. The second, “Sans amarres”, dropped this morning with the album. Co-written and co-produced by DJ Snake, it does the opposite: a much more laid-back ballad. Two vibes, two sides to their duo.

It doesn't come out of nowhere. In July 2025, DJ Snake invited Mylène Farmer on stage at the Arènes de Nîmes. In early October, he confirmed the collab on his social media, saying he was deeply honored to work with the French icon. For her, at 64, it’s a way to connect with those who drive today's playlists. And it works: forty years after her debut, she is winning over more and more young people.

As for the album, she wrote all 13 tracks. Young Parisian producer DJ Lewis composed the music for eight of them, while Moby returns on two others. On Tuesday evening, the premiere in cinemas attracted over 65,000 people. Expectations were high.

When it comes to reviews, opinions are quite divided. La Libre calls it an effective and touching record, well suited to its time, with the two DJ Snake tracks standing out the most. Other critics find it occasionally brilliant but often ordinary, and a bit repetitive. No tour has been announced for now, so no upcoming concerts to look forward to yet.

So, banger or not? The album lasts 45 minutes, and you can form your own opinion before you even finish your night out.
