ABOUT US
In the summer of 1993 the first electronic music festival of the world saw daylight in The Netherlands. On the shimmering open sand plain that is called the Maasvlakte, just below Rotterdam,
3.000 ravers came together to get lost in Mysteryland. At that very first edition in 1993 there was already a Tunnel of Terror, a live stage where bands like Quazar performed and even a tent with ‘100% classics’.

Visitors that wanted to chill out could wander through the ambient garden and stretch out on the forestry sand dunes while sinking into the soundscapes of dj Ambient Daan. Much has changed since then, but maybe even more things have stayed the same. We’ve grown quite a bit of course and our extended family now consists of over 100.000 party animals. Mysteryland still is the most immersive outdoor festival experience in the Netherlands, where you can enter multiple worlds at once, much like in a dream.

We moved our festival grounds to the Floriade-terrain, with its placid ponds and mesmerizing leafy valleys. You can still get lost in our ambient garden, be surprised by a geisha jumping at you from the bushes or ask a fortune teller hiding below a jungle bridge to read your cards.

You can experience the climax of your life at the Q-dance stage with its larger than life stage design and massive light, water and fireworks show or calm your senses in the healing garden. Mysteryland still prides itself in presenting a variety of music that can unite all tribes of music lovers and party-animals. Mysteryland was the first electronic music festival to include both a Hip-hop and a Hardstyle stage. Nowadays you can hear every type of music, from the most merciless terror that will elevate you to the highest grounds to dreamy soundscapes that will help you calm down and nurture your senses.

This variety in music attracts birds of different feathers, making Mysteryland one of the most open-minded, inspirational and inclusive festivals of the world. Our lovely little festival has now grown to become a three-day manifestation with a full on board campsite that includes tipis, cabins, tents and exclusive camping stages where the party continues day and night. From a pioneer in the Dutch electronic music scene we have become a hallmark in the international festival calendar, welcoming visitors from over fifty nationalities, including countries such as Australia, Canada and Japan.

We still want each of our visitors to experience what we have always tried to achieve over the last 25 years: a shared connection through music. Come join and celebrate the future together with us!
